Neil Pedersen, Esq., is Principal of Pedersen Law, APLC in Irvine, California.  Mr. Pedersen received his Juris Doctor in 1988 from Western State School of Law, Fullerton CA, where he was Co-Valedictorian and Editor-in-Chief of Law Review. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Law in 1986, also from Western State School of Law.

Mr. Pedersen has spent over twenty-seven years as a practicing California attorney, engaged in employment, business, and insurance litigation and transactional work. He served as an arbitrator for twenty-two years, primarily in attorney-client fee disputes and provided specialized faith-based arbitration and mediation services for fifteen years. 

In the late 1990s, Mr. Pedersen was in-house counsel for a start-up technology firm, where he built the legal and human resources infrastructure from the ground up. He is currently a Western State School of Law adjunct professor teaching classes in Employment Law and Law Practice Management and Technology. 

Mr. Pedersen is a fierce competitor, savvy negotiator, and insightful strategist. He has a twenty-plus year track record of procuring significant judgments and settlements in the areas of insurance coverage and bad faith, business litigation, real property litigation, and employment discrimination and termination. He also enjoys trial. In addition, he provides general counsel and business transaction legal services.

Among Mr. Pedersen’s recent awards and honors, he was named “Attorney of the Year” by the California State Bar Solo and Small Firm Section in 2016, as well as a “Super Lawyer” by Thompson Reuters publications in 2015 and 2016. He has been identified as one of the “Best Attorneys in Southern California” by American Lawyer Media (ALM), 2012-2016. 

Mr. Pedersen speaks and writes extensively on many legal subjects. Some 2015-2016 talks include: "Effectively Managing Your Practice" a 3.3 hour presentation for National Law Foundation, “Employment Law,” one hour segment of day-long Bridging the Gap program sponsored by the Orange County (CA) Bar Association; “Converting Your Office to a Digital Environment,” presentation to the Placer County (CA) Bar Association Annual Meeting; “Hit the Floor Running: Practical Advice for the Novice Attorney,” seminar sponsored by Western State College of Law, February 20, 2016; “Management Tools to Create Effective Law Office Employees,” a 1.5 hour presentation at the State Bar of California Annual Meeting; and “Honing Your Client Intake Skills to Avoid Practice Challenges,” a 1.5 hour presentation at the State Bar of California Annual Meeting.
