This is a Form of Estate Planning Questionnaire. Some call it a “Fact-Finder”. When doing estate planning for any client, regardless of wealth or circumstances, the estate plan is only as good as the facts it supports. A draftsman can have a client sign a perfectly drafted document, but unless it suits the client’s circumstances, it is essentially worthless.

It is so important to gather as much relevant information from a client as can reasonably be done. This Form is intended to ask the most important questions – addressing personal information, family description and issues, and financial information (assets and liabilities). This should be the starting point for the planner. As one can see by the many Forms offered by nlfforms.com, drafting estate planning documents is NOT a process of one size fits all. Hopefully, this Form will get the client engaged in the planning process, talking about his or her life and its special circumstances – all in an effort to enable the planner/draftsperson to do the best possible job for the client.
