Christopher J. Robinette is Professor of Law at Widener Commonwealth Law School. Prior to joining the Widener faculty, Professor Robinette served as an Honorable Abraham L. Freedman Fellow and Lecturer in Law at Temple University School of Law from 2003 through 2005. From 1996 through 2003, Professor Robinette practiced law at Tremblay & Smith, L.L.P. in Charlottesville, Virginia, where his practice focused on torts, insurance, and commercial litigation.

Professor Robinette regularly teaches Torts, Insurance, Contracts, Professional Responsibility, and Evidence. He writes in the areas of tort law and theory and is the editor of TortsProf Blog. Professor Robinette is an elected member of the American Law Institute. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Association of American Law Schools Torts and Compensation Systems Section and as a member of the New Appleman on Insurance Advisory Board. At Widener, Professor Robinette has received, multiple times, the Douglas E. Ray Excellence in Faculty Scholarship Award and the Outstanding Faculty Award. 


Professor Robinette is a graduate of the College of William & Mary (B.A., cum laude, 1993) and the University of Virginia School of Law (J.D., 1996). He received an LL.M. in Legal Education from Temple in 2005.
